Index Returns 2009 to Present

Investment returns for 2015 continue to trend below historical averages for all major asset classes.  While we would all love to see average or above returns every year, that’s obviously not possible. 

For 6 straight years the U.S. stock market (in green) has provided positive returns…with all but 1 of those above the historical long-term average of 10%.  We have had quite a fantastic run which may go on for several more years or come to an abrupt ending in the not too distant future.  What is for sure, is the most recent 6 years provided a tremendous opportunity to build wealth for those who had the courage to hang in there through the financial crisis.
